A Bittersweet Goodbye

Before I say anything else, I want to say thank you. I have been fortunate to have the support of literally THOUSANDS of people while you have watched me finish high school, college and go through many major life events. Thank you for your patience when the office was crazy and you gave me a second to breathe. Thank you for your kind words. Most importantly, thank you for putting your trust in me to care for your pups and kits like they are my own.

Earlier this year I got a new phone. The salesman helping me commented on the number of photos being transferred and asked if I was a photographer. I laughed, told him no, and let him know that I ran KennelResorts. “Most of those photos are of the dogs and cats that visit me.”

Your dogs and cats know some pretty good stories about me. Whenever I work in the kennel with them, I talk to them. They often act as sounding boards for me when I need to think things through. They are really great listeners.

As for the purpose of this email, it’s to so bitter-sweetly tell you that I am saying goodbye to the place I have called home for the last 12 years. I have loved KennelResorts and put my blood (thankfully, not too much), lots of sweat & and so many tears into the care of your pets. I have had the unique opportunity of being part of your lives for births, marriages, deaths, big moves, lay offs, new jobs and new furry additions. I have shed many tears for the dogs and cats that I have had to say goodbye to over the years as some have moved away and others, unfortunately & inevitably, have passed away.

I will begin training my replacements on Monday, July 15th. I am confident in Crystal, Niki & Kristen to continue providing the same great care you have come to expect. As for me, my last day at KennelResorts will be Friday, August 2nd. I start my new position the following Monday and am very excited for this new path.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. I will miss you all very much.
